Q: How much does a Frankenstein Trike conversation kit cost?
A: The basic kit for a Sportster is $5200 plus shipping.

Q: Does that come with everything I'll need?
A: That is the rearend, fenders, brackets, tires & wheels, & brakes.

Q: Is that all I need?
A: Depends on the bike we are converting. The kit requires shorter exhaust, so if it hasn't been upgraded, it will have to be done also. Along with the front triple tree.

Q: Do I have to replace the triple tree?
A: Have to? No. Want to? Yes!
Raking the front wheel out the few degrees needed will greatly help with steering. The stock set up makes it difficult to turn while riding at highway speeds.

Q: Does it handle much different than two wheels?
A: Yes. But basically only in cornering. You need to be more mindful of a cars speed limits in turns. Being you're steering and not "leaning" as in a two wheel bike. But it will become instinct after a very short time.

Q: Will I still need a motorcycle endorsement on my license?
A: Yes. (But only if you want to be legal!)

Q: How does it affect my insurance on the bike?
A: We recommend speaking with your insurance company about adding extra coverage. The kits can be 1/4 to 1/2 the value of the bike itself.

Q: What about test drives?
A: If you have a motorcycle endorsement, we have a trike available for test drives. Just call to make arrangements.

Q: How long does it take to install?
A: From the time we place the order to delivery is normally 7-10 business days. Shipping is about 3 days. Conversation about 2. Paint about 2. (If all goes good!)

Q: What about future maintenance?
A: Under normal conditions, periodically inspect brakes, tires, nuts & bolts. Just like any bike. But no, there's no fluid or grease that is changed on a regular basis. The system is considered a sealed unit. Bearings and all.

Q: What if the bike is still under factory warranty? Does this void it?
A: No. your factory warranty will still cover everything except the trike kit. Frankenstein backs the kit with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty on parts, and we at Hometown Trikes add in a 1 year labor warranty.

Q: You talked about the cost of the kit, what's the cost to install?
A: Sportsters, Dynas, Softails, Vrods, and Road Kings....$1.00.
Any of the models with a front fairing are subject to an extra cost.

Q: Can I install it myself?
A: Yes, but at $1.00 why not let us and receive the labor warranty.
But in the event you're building a custom bike and / or just want to do it yourself, contact us to order. It is still the same price as ordering direct, you won't have to be home to accept delivery at a certain time, and we will still offer any help or recommendations as you build.
